About AdultVRGuide

Hi, I’m Chris, the guy behind AdultVRGuide (AVG).

My VR journey started back in 2016, when a friend handed me a Google Cardboard at his birthday party. I put it on, looked around, and immediately thought: Okay… this is going to be a thing. At the time, I imagined a future where pretty much everyone would have a VR headset at home 🥽, just like we all have a TV. Most media followed the hype with interest, until… it just wasn’t that interesting anymore. So in short… that future hasn’t quite arrived yet. Apparently, humanity had other plans. 😁

Still, I wanted to be part of this new technology. I’m not a developer — I’m an online marketer — so my options for actually building something in VR were somewhat limited.

But there was one obvious question that I was pretty sure crossed everyone’s mind when VR first appeared: what would porn be like in VR? Come on, don’t pretend you didn’t think about it too. 😉

VR Porn is Here and It’s Scary Realistic | Mashable

At first, I assumed nobody would actually pay for it. With endless amounts of free content available on the big porn platforms, why would anyone? But VR turned out to be different. Back then, VR porn was still in its infancy, and only a handful of dedicated VR sites existed.

So I started a review site using affiliate marketing as its business model. But I didn’t want to create yet another generic affiliate site with a bunch of copied descriptions and a few referral links. I wanted to actually be useful.

I personally reviewed the sites and tried to cover everything someone would want to know before starting their VR journey. Not just the obvious stuff like video quality and the size of the library, but also how easy the sites are to use, how often they release new content, and — perhaps even more importantly — how they handle privacy, payments and security.

That eventually resulted in eight different review categories: Content Quality, VR Experience, Collection Size, Update Frequency, Ease of Use, Support, Privacy & Security, and Value for Money.

Even today, I believe AdultVRGuide is one of the most comprehensive sources for VR site reviews out there. And this year, I completely rebuilt the site from the ground up. This time, I had a little help from some rather clever AI tools. Since English isn’t my native language (I’m Dutch), AI also helps me turn my Dutch thoughts into something that hopefully sounds like proper English.

But make no mistake: the research, testing and reviews are still mine. I personally check and evaluate every site before it gets reviewed on AVG.

And then there’s Foxxy, my cat and unofficial Chief Quality Control Officer. She has personally inspected… well, absolutely nothing, really. But she does approve of my working hours, especially when they involve sitting at a desk with a warm keyboard nearby.

So that’s us: Chris, Foxxy, my AI colleagues and a slightly obsessive desire to make sense of the ever-growing world of adult VR.

Enjoy your adult VR adventure! 😘
